Have a question or want to connect with our team? We’re here to help you find the information you need.

inclusive environment for our community. We offer high quality swimming programs for all ages, from first splashes to advanced squads- plus great facilities for public swimming, aqua fitness and a welcoming pool cafe.

Our mission is to support safer, healthier and happier communities through swimming. Water safety is central to that purpose, with practical skills such as safe entries and exits, floating and survival skills included in our learning pathway.
We recognise that swimmers start with different levels of experience and confidence. Class placement considers age, confidence and current ability, helping each learner begin at an appropriate level. Our team can guide families through the options and help them choose a suitable class.
We value participation and a positive learning experience. Whether someone is becoming comfortable in the water or developing stronger swimming skills, our approach combines structured lessons with opportunities to build confidence and enjoy their progress. Our facilities include pool ramps at Springsure and pool hoists at Gracemere to support access to the water.

Our Learn to Swim pathway begins with parent and child classes, where babies and toddlers share their early experiences in the water with a parent or carer. As children progress to independent lessons, they develop foundational skills before working towards coordinated swimming strokes and greater confidence in deeper water.
Stroke development and squad programs give confident swimmers opportunities to refine all four strokes and build endurance. Swimmers work on starts, turns and pacing, while squad training supports fitness and more efficient swimming. This gives learners a pathway to keep developing their skills as their confidence and ability grow.
Alongside lessons, Light Aquatics offers public swimming and Aqua Fit, giving the wider community ways to enjoy the pool and stay active. Our pool cafés also provide a welcoming place to relax during a visit.
Matt and Melissa Hunter are the directors of Light Aquatics. Matt also manages Rolleston Aquatic Centre, while Melissa manages Springsure Aquatic Centre, combining their leadership roles with responsibility for these facilities.
